Eden Guitar Ensemble live at the Garden Route Botanical Garden

An afternoon of fabulous live music is planned for the 03 of November at the Botanical Gardens. Performing will be our very own Eden Guitar Ensemble. The event will kick off at 15h30; bring a picnic basket and your own camp chairs.
The Eden Guitar Ensemble was established in 2009. This is an acoustic ensemble (all classical guitars), with Bansuri flute and Djembe drum. At the moment it is made up of 5 members. We present a varied program combining classical as well as contemporary and world music elements. Baroque, Classical, Jazz, Beatles and World music with flavours of Latin America and Flamenco!
Eden Guitar Ensemble has performed with the "Red Cello" production in Plett as well as in various venues - Art galleries, George Music Society etc.
The Ensemble consists of - Benjamin Bushakevitz, Johan Rautenbach ( Banjuri and Djembe as well ),Sandy Voortman, Arja Lambrechts and Jane Donald.
If it rains – concert will take place in Voortrekker Hall.

TIME: 15h30 for 16h00

Fynbos Eco Festival

MASSIVE Indigenous Plant sale: It is that time of year again and the Garden Route Botanical Garden is gearing up for a fantastic Fynbos Eco Festival. This year you will have the pleasure of buying plants at the biggest indigenous plant sale ever hosted here with nurseries such as New Plant, Petals, Die Bof, GRBG Volunteers Nursery, Outeniqua Tree Farm and various other growers all participating.
Indigenous plants such as succulents, aloes, bulbs, medicinal plants, shrubs, trees, proteas, ericas, restios, annuals, perennials, flowers and herbs will be available in abundance. Furthermore, expert gardening advice will be available along with all your gardening needs.
There will be a variety Eco Stalls, such as WESSA, NMMU and other important environmental bodies.
More fun in the form of food stalls, craft stalls, enviro eco stalls, Tea garden, live music, beer tent, talks and demonstrations, botanical book stall, kids entertainment, SPCA Bark in the Park and much more!

The Garden Route Botanical Garden will be celebrating Arbor Week with an indigenous tree sale starting on Saturday 1st September to Friday 7th September (excluding Sunday). Over 800 indigenous trees will be on sale at the nursery at 49 Caledon Street in George. Don't miss this opportunity to get your tree to plant for Arbor week. The Garden Route Botanical Garden will be hosting its biggest annual fundraiser the Fynbos Festival. The festival will take place at the Botanical Garden in Caledon Street George. This event is always eagerly anticipated by the public and is one of the only “Eco Green “events in the area. The Festival kicks off on Friday the 08 with a two day indigenous plant sale. This year organisers have endeavoured to bring you the biggest sale ever with no less than seven nurseries participating, all conceivable indigenous plants will be on sale, there will also be expert gardening advice available. Various Environmental NGO’s will be exhibiting, and the public will be able to interface with these important environmental bodies, learning about their causes. A number of fascinating talks and demonstrations have been planned for the weekend, along with these food stalls, tea garden, jumping castle, Botanical books, beer garden and live music will certainly keep you healthily entertained.
