Dear Businesspeople....

August’s Boerewors Bash at Scarab’s Red Roof Lapa was a huge success, raising a record R 10 570.00 for the Island Conservancy Tortoise Campaign. Thank you to Tony Hunter - our spokesperson, Jennifer & Antony Tooley (& Beyond), Riaan Petersen (Café Afrique), Liana & Edward Hildebrand (Champion Butchery), Reflections, The Red Roof Lapa, Eugene Bryant & Kim Martin, Ryan & Dee Francois (Café Francois), various members from the Island Conservancy and the guests for their participation and input!
Our September Bash plans to raise funds for the Rondevlei Primary School who have 4 teachers and approximately 70 pupils. This community school has recently started a library at the school, and funds raised will be utilised towards stocking their library. Any donations in the form of children’s books, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, etc, will be welcome, as they do not have computers to look up information for school work. Oakhill School is running a “Christmas Angel” project for these children, and they have scheduled a Xmas function for Rondevlei Primary (at Oakhill in Knysna) for the beginning of December. They have compiled a directory (see attached) with each child’s details, including clothing & shoe sizes, favourite colours, ages and birthdays. Shaw Hipster, from Oakhill, will be telling us a bit more about this event at the Boerewors Bash on Thursday.
Besides raising funds for a local charity, the Boerie Bash also aims to create a social networking platform for all locals and businesses, and we would like for you to join us, for some socialising and networking. As usual, the venue will be providing boerewors rolls and there will be a cash bar available.
Our hosts for the evening are T & B Log Homes and Sotheby’s International Sedgefield, who will each be given an opportunity to tell you a little more about their businesses / organisations. They are also donating some prizes, which will be drawn out of a hat and given to a few lucky people. All you need to do to qualify is attend.
